About the event
After the “frazzle dazzle” of the winter holidays, please join the women of Yamama! for this lively, soulful and restorative play date. In this beautiful season of simplicity and quietude, when seeds in the deep darkness of the Earth’s embrace can simply rest, we honor the possibilities that rest quietly in our own hearts. Like the seed, we have everything within us to do what needs to be done – when the time is right. For now, we are merely asked to accept the invitation to notice. What is stirring within our hearts? What unspoken dreams whisper for our attention? What energies yearn to move through our bodies, our voices, our hearts? What soul-food do we hunger for in this moment of possibility?
This one-day retreat will include a West African World dance class; an African hand drum lesson; opportunities for ecstatic drum and dance; and time in ceremony and reflection to help focus our intentions and carry the blessings of the day forward into our lives. Women of all experience and abilities are welcome to join in this circle of play, support, freedom, and power as we honor the subtle quickening of the unknown that-which-is-on-the-way now safely tucked inside our hearts.
We could all use more laughter; more breathing; more permission; more play; and more authentic connection with other women. They’re all waiting for you here. Can YOU come out and play??
